The Contemporary Chamber Music Performance Program at the Valencia International Performance Academy will be led by the Mivos Quartet, flutist Erik Drescher, conductor/pianist Carlos Amat, and percussionist Megan Arns. Enrolled students will work closely with performance faculty in coaching contemporary repertoire of the 20th and 21st century, as well as brand new works composed by participants in the composition program. The course of study and repertoire will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the faculty and performers enrolled.

Repertoire lists suggested by faculty for application materials, as well as for coaching and performance at VIPA can be found here.

In addition to working closely with faculty, all students enrolled in the performance program will have complete access to composition program events, workshops, masterclasses, presentations, and concerts. A culminating concert will be given by the students of the performance program, performing repertoire that they have coached with faculty.

The program will take place within the state-of-the-art facilities of the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo in the beautiful city of Valencia, Spain. Boasting a breathtaking coastline, a vibrant cultural life and world-class cuisine, Valencia is one of the most sought-after summer destinations in Europe.
